Tock Todo is a to-do list and reminder app for Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch made by Tyler Hale. The short version: the app does not collect any personal data. Your tasks stay on your devices and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. We cannot see them.
Nothing. Tock Todo has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no third-party code. It does not track you, does not use the advertising identifier, and never sends your data to us or to anyone else.
Your tasks, groups, tags and settings are saved in a file on each of your devices. On iPhone, the app's widgets and the Apple Watch app read the same data on your devices. Deleting the app deletes this data from that device.
If you are signed in to iCloud, Tock Todo keeps your devices in step using Apple's CloudKit in your private iCloud database. Your tasks, groups, tags and a few settings (accent color and default snooze) are stored there under your Apple Account. Only you can access your private iCloud data. The developer has no access to it. iCloud is provided by Apple and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Tock Todo in your device's iCloud settings; the app keeps working on each device on its own.
So that changes arrive quickly, Apple's push service sends the app silent signals when your iCloud data changes. These carry no task content from us.
Tock Todo is free for 14 days, then $0.99 a year or $2.99 once. Purchases, the free trial, subscriptions, refunds and Family Sharing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store with your Apple Account. We never see your payment details, name or email, and the app does not send purchase information anywhere. To remember when your free trial started (so it doesn't restart if you reinstall), the app stores that one date on your devices, in your iCloud key-value storage and in your iCloud Keychain, under your Apple Account. We cannot see it.
Reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications. They are created and shown by your device, not sent from a server.
When you add a task by voice on Apple Watch, the words are turned into text by Apple's built-in dictation. Tock Todo only receives the finished text. Dictation is provided by Apple and is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
On the Mac you can export your tasks to a file or import them from one. The app only reads or writes the files you pick.
Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
